Another week means more changes to what is happening with immigration in New Zealand.

While there isn’t as much news as last week, there is three important topics I mention in today’s video.

First is those of you who are in New Zealand and are stuck here, or have lost your jobs or had your work time reduced. The NZ government is now providing support to those who need help. I cover what they are looking for, but more details can be found here https://covid19.govt.nz/bu…/covid-19-financial-support-tool/ and the application for support can be made here https://foreignnationals.services.govt.nz/. Please only use this if you actually need help, as there is only so much support available, so it has been put in place for those foreign nationals who are having trouble surviving and cannot return home.

Second, I mention that there has been changes to the rules for those coming in to New Zealand by boat, or those needing to fly in to join as boat crew. If this is you then please let us know as I don’t spend much time on this.

Finally, at the end of the month we expect the changes to the Essential Skills Work Visa to come through. This means losing ANZSCO and being based on salary and location. I cover what we know about this, and what our expectations are. I’ll do another video on this once we finally get the details.

If there is anything you’d like us to cover in more depth please let us know, and contact us if we can help you with your immigration situation.

Kia Kaha New Zealand. Stay safe and keep washing those hands.
